INTRODUCTION TO RF DRIVERS:. |
RF DRIVERS FOR ACOUSTO-OPTIC DEVICES Gooch & Housego Florida LLC designs and manufactures RF drivers that maximize the performance of our Acousto-Optic devices. In addition to the wide range of standard RF drivers offered by Gooch & Housego, we also specialize in custom designed OEM Products and quick delivery schedules. Our standard RF drivers include a wide range of oscillator designs such as: · Crystal Controlled Oscillators For actual specifications on each driver, please refer to the applicable specification document. The 11000 series drivers produce RF power, typically less than one Watt, at frequencies of 300 to 500 MHz and are crystal controlled oscillators. These are available in OEM modules or in self contained, turn-key rack mountable boxes. The driver for the mode locker devices is the 110XX-CL/MLAS series driver, which is a crystal controlled oscillator and has a closed loop temperature controller to control the mode locker device acoustic resonator crystal temperature. The 21000 series drivers produce RF power up to 2 Watts at frequencies from 24 MHz to 300 MHz. These are crystal controlled oscillators with analog and / or TTL digital modulation control. The 21000 series drivers are available in OEM modules or in self contained, turn-key rack mountable boxes. The 21000 drivers are also available with variable frequency outputs and include the 21000 VCO series drivers and the 21000 SAS series drivers. The output frequency, sweep speed, and bandwidth for the 21000 VCO driver are all controlled by way of a control voltage signal. The 21000 SAS driver has front panel controls to set the center frequency, and output power level. The 31000 series drivers include the 24 to 250 MHz, 2 to 20 Watt drivers designed to drive an AOM. This series is designed to drive the 23000 and 35000 series AOMs requiring higher drive power. The drivers typically have a digital modulation control and / or analog modulation control. The 31000 series drivers are available in OEM modules or in self contained, turn-key rack mountable boxes. The 38000 series drivers include the low frequency, low power (24 to 110 MHz, 2 to 24 Watts) and the low frequency, high power (25 to 80 MHz, 15 to 100 Watts) drivers designed to drive AO Q-Switch devices. The drivers typically have a digital modulation control and an analog RF power control (-PK or -A05) which allows the customer to control the energy level of the laser output pulse. All drivers in this series have crystal controlled oscillators with analog and / or digital modulation. The 38000 series drivers are available in OEM modules or in self contained, turn-key rack mountable boxes. The 39000 series driver has two digital modulation inputs: “Fixed” and “Variable”. These controls allow the customer to issue a pulse command of a "Fixed" pulse width, The duration determined by the drive's pulse width control and is settable by the customer, or when set in the "Variable" mode, the duration is determined by the input signal pulse duration. The choices of driver output frequency, output power, and first pulse suppression / analog power control options are "Factory Set" when ordered. These control options include FPS, PPK, A05, and R05. Each type option allows the customer to control the RF output power in different ways in order to control the output power of the Q-Switched laser pulse. The 54000 series are integrated packages with the fiber optical coupled AO modulators, power supply, and the RF driver housed in a convenient self contained, turn-key rack mountable box. These are for use in fiber optical network systems for modulation, switching and frequency shifting applications. The 64000 series drivers include the specialty and multi-channel drivers and include: · 4 and 8 channel Polychromatic Acousto-Optic Modulator (PCAOM) drivers. The 64000 series PCAOM driver is used for wavelength selection in visible light applications such as light shows. It is available in three standard configurations: the standard 8 channel version with the ability to be reconfigured in the field, a fixed frequency 4 channel unit, and a fixed frequency 8 channel unit. Each of these units has analog modulation inputs and a TTL level blanking inputs. Each driver is available as an OEM module or as a self-contained, rack mountable unit. The 64000 series digital frequency synthesizer (DFS) is typically used with Acousto-Optic Tunable Filters (AOTF) and Acousto-Optic Beam Deflectors (AOBD). It provides a precise, stable, digitally controlled frequency, which is ideal for use with these devices. The output level of the unit can be controlled from an analog modulation input. It is available as an OEM module or as a self-contained, rack mountable unit. The 64000 series Dual Voltage Controlled Oscillators are designed to drive our ultra-violet two axis beam deflector assemblies. The output level of the unit can be controlled from an analog modulation input. It is available as a self-contained, rack mountable unit. PDFs
